Anniversary Session – Centennial Beach Vancouver
Diandra & Phil got in touch with me about a photo session to document and celebrate their wedding anniversary. Along with their dog Raphie, we explored centennial beach near Vancouver BC as the sun was setting.
We began the session in the long grass along the dyke trail which offers warm tones and mountain views on a clear day, and then ended the session playing in the sand and water.
Summer evenings and early mornings near the ocean are one of the best times for documenting a milestone, taking advantage of the temperature cooling down and the light is perfect for cinematic and creative art. The light during sunrise and sunset time is warm and golden, turning to a beautiful blue cool hue after it is fully set.
This location is one of my favourites and I was so glad I got capture the love Diandra and Phil share along with their sweet little family member Raphie. It is my favourite when families and couples bring along their dogs, as a family portrait session doesn’t feel complete without them! I’ll be writing another blog post about tips for bringing your dog along for your session with me, and will be including great locations. If you are hoping to have your dog included in family or engagement photos get in touch, I would love to plan the perfect location with you.
Centennial beach is one of my favourite beaches as it offers lots of space to explore without other groups of people constantly interrupting. Along with a diversity of backgrounds in Boundary Bay park.
The beach is roughly an hour away from Vancouver, between Tsawwassen and Delta so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to access this location. During the summer the parking lot can fill up quite fast, so plan ahead to have a session here either in the early morning or at sunset.
